This is a convenient and instant comparison site for legal services- a virtual shop window for providers of legal services to reach their customers, and for someone thinking about buying legal services online to make a comparison: by location, price and (as the site develops) feedback. As for quality, all of the services advertised are offered by people who hold themselves out to be professional and fully accredited.

There will never be a charge to customers. There is no catch. Any advertising fees will be charged to legal service providers and will be very modest in comparison with other forms of marketing.

As a customer there is no obligation on you to pay any money to Law Comparison at any stage. If you choose to enter into a contract with a third party, a solicitor for example or another provider of legal or information services, then they will explain to you how much you are required to pay them and when.

You do not owe them any money at that stage. You can find out from them how much it will cost and when they will bill you. You can just say ‘no thanks’ until you go to a further more formal stage and accept their offer of legal services.

There is no charge to customers because this site depends on internet traffic for its revenue. There is no catch.

This area is subject to two very strong pressures on the providers of legal services: legality and expediency. Advertising standards mean that someone is liable to prosecution if they falsely advertise, e.g. a price at which that they had no intention of providing an item or a service. The Unfair Contract Terms Act and consumer protection laws have been enacted by government to protect you. As for expediency, we rely heavily on customer feedback. The market in the provision of legal services is very competitive, not just because of Law Comparison. We will not tolerate firms who are not genuine in their offers, however long it takes for the authorities to pursue them, we will suspend them immediately.

This site will not pass your details to any third party independent of your decision to contact a firm through this site. In other words, it is only this site and the solicitors or advisers that you choose to contact who will have your information. We are fully compliant with the Data Protection Act, and signatories with the Information Commissioner.
